Ylämaa Gem and Mineral Show 1st - 3rd July 2011 in Ylämaa, FINLAND The International Ylämaa Gem & Mineral Show is the largest and oldest event of its kind in Finland. The next show, which is scheduled for 1st - 3rd July 2011, will take place in a literally brilliant atmosphere created by the tens of thousands of lustrous jewels one more brilliant than the other that are to be exhibited at the Show. Various special themes and exhibitions related to the world of gems will bring additional colour to the event. More than one hundred exhibitors and thousands of visitors from dozens of countries all over the world are expected to attend the gem fair, which is one of the biggest in the Nordic countries. The main themes of the Show are gems, jewellery, stone objects, fossils and meteorites. A number of novelties and rarities from the world of stones will be presented at the Show this year. It is possible to have your personal jewels and stones appraised by a professional at a stone appraisal stand at the Show in case you have forgotten the name of your stone or if you want to check whether your gem is genuine or not. The Show is directed to the whole family, and in addition to other activities for the juniors there will be a supervised children’s playground in the area.
